Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Overview

This policy explains how refunds are handled on Tezt. The rules differ based on who paid — the organizer (institution creating the exam) or the candidate (person taking the exam).

2. Organizer Fees — Non-Refundable After Publishing

Fees paid by organizers to publish an exam, onboard candidates, or use paid platform features are non-refundable once the exam has been published. Publishing commits platform resources (storage, delivery infrastructure, proctoring quota, candidate invitations) that cannot be reversed.

If payment was made but the exam was never published, an organizer may request a refund within 7 days of payment by writing to [email protected].

3. Candidate Exam Fees — Subject to Organizer Policy

Exam fees paid by candidates are collected on behalf of the organizer. Whether a candidate is eligible for a refund — and under what conditions — is determined by the organizer's own refund policy. Tezt only facilitates the payment and does not set refund eligibility for candidate exam fees.

Candidates must direct refund requests to the organizing institution.Tezt will process any refund that the organizer approves, subject to the non-refundable items listed below.

4. Payment Gateway Transaction Fees — Non-Refundable

Transaction processing fees charged by our payment gateway partners (including but not limited to gateway commission, GST on gateway fees, and bank charges) are non-refundable in all cases. This applies even when the underlying payment (organizer fee or candidate fee) is refunded in full. These fees are levied by the gateway at the time of the original transaction and are not recovered by Tezt.

5. Refunds for Technical Issues

If a payment was charged due to a verifiable technical error on our platform (duplicate charge, payment succeeded but access was not granted, etc.), we will issue a full refund of the principal amount upon verification. Transaction fees (see section 4) remain non-refundable. Contact [email protected] with the payment reference and any supporting evidence.

6. Refund Process & Timeline

Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5 to 10 business days of approval. The time taken for the amount to appear in the payer's account depends on their bank or card issuer and is outside our control.

• Organizer fees for any exam that has been published
• Per-candidate fees once a candidate has started or completed an attempt
• Payment gateway transaction fees (gateway commission, GST, bank charges)
• Custom branding, white-label, or one-time setup fees once work has begun
